Based on a previous review, we thought we could fit 6 people at this table. No way! The table is 42 inches and the top ONLY extends to 54 inches with the butterfly leaf, but the legs stay fixed and do not widen. The space between the legs on the wider side is 32 inches, so we could not fit 2 18 inch wide folding chairs if we expected people to be able to put their legs under the table to eat.
