Love them, but.. I love these chairs. They finished up very nicely in a custom mixed gray-brown water based stain and satin polyurethane finish, and they are fairly comfortable, as wood goes. The chairs are good quality, sturdy, mostly well constructed, and easy to assemble. The only complaints I have are: 1) the cross bars are all screwed in (not just glued), which at first glance would seem like a good thing. The first two chairs I ordered were well done! No need to sand or prep for paint or stain and they were well made. Not as pleased with the second set. Not sure I would reorder. The second set needs sanding to get the paint to adhere smoothly and also you can see where the wood comes together in some places that it splayed slightly.
